Actually Finishing Something July 2013 Part 3

Here is the third set of questions for the Actually Finishing Something July challenge.  To find out more about the challenge or to join in, go to Katie's blog: Whisperings of the Pen.

1. Were you able to meet (or exceed!) your goal this week?  (Note: these questions are not for this past week, but the week before- July 7-13.  There will be another tag tomorrow for last week's writing.)
For Betrayal I'm still on track.  But, I fell behind again on The Land Beyond the Sunset.  ):  So, I'll have to increase my word count even more this week.

2. Where did you get the bulk of your writing accomplished? In the quiet of your room, outside on the patio, on the bus?
In the quiet of my bedroom, and in the kitchen, again, waiting for food to cook.

3. Share a couple of your favorite snippets!
The Land Beyond the Sunset:
"Who are they?" Elsheba asked.
"They are Navy men," Davardi replied, "Do you see their uniforms?"
"The grown-up man is an admiral," Benjamorn said, "You can tell by the stripes on his sleeve."
"Which admiral?" Hadalsa questioned.
The boys shrugged, "I don't know," Davardi admitted.

"At last, something good," Ted said, pleased.  He turned to descend to ground level.
I grabbed his arm, "How do we know they're on our side?  You say they are family.  It was family that betrayed us in the first place!  How do we know they aren't on the side of the girls and have chosen this way to infiltrate the fortress?"

4. Have you introduced a new character into your story? Tell us about his/her personality.
The Land Beyond the Sunset:
No new characters in this book, but some new characters that will appear in the later books.

No new characters, but I fleshed out the character of Pokko, Rosalie's second husband.

5. List the favorite foods of your main characters.
I'm only going to use a few of my main characters, because otherwise this post would take forever.

The Land Beyond the Sunset:
Timotheus: he loves all food, but if he had to pick a favorite, anything with peanut butter in it.
Sarai: anything with lemon in it.
Abijalla: pork.

Rosalie: chocolate.  :)
Iniga: apples.

6. Introduce us to the antagonist in your story. Does he/she prefer crunchy or creamy peanut butter?
The Land Beyond the Sunset:
Captain Shrike:
The epitome of a pirate.  He is tricky and the sometime leader of the Third Pirate Fleet.  He likes just plain peanuts, not peanut butter.

Smart, a good planner and manager.  Likes creamy peanut butter.

Quiet but extremely stubborn.  Prefers no peanut butter at all.

Airhead, not good at planning, determined to have her own way at any cost.  Likes creamy peanut butter, especially mixed with frosting.

Bullheaded, impulsive, hot-tempered.  Loves crunchy peanut butter.

And there is the end of week three's questions!  I hope your writing is going well for the rest of you!!
